On May 4th 2007, Charlene (owner of The Real Cake Baker) entered her original recipe the Butter Pecan Caramel Cheesecake in a baking contest sponsored by the KTLA (5) Morning News Show  in Los Angeles, California and the movie "Waitress". With absolutely no previous baking experience prior to the contest, her recipe was chosen out of over 170 entries and she was victorious in winning the first place prize of $2,500.00 for this fabulous cheesecake, and the rest is history.
